Good Morning

I hope you and your family and friends are keeping well and safe in these uncertain times.

FamilyTreeDNA has reduced the price of a Y-DNA37 test to just U.S. Dollars 99.00 until Nov. 24th!  Bag a test for a male relative whilst the cost is as low as this!

To date 188 males have taken Y-chromosome tests as part of the Cotton/Cotten DNA Project, described here:

All of those tested in Cotton/Cotten DNA Project Family 6 share common ancestors originating from the Isle of Wight:
http://www.skylinc.net/users/cottondna/family6.htm

A Y-DNA37 test can be ordered for just U.S. Dollars 99.00 until Nov. 24th for a male Cotton/Cotten, if you join our project here:
https://www.familytreedna.com/group-join.aspx?Group=Cotton

These tests can be taken by males only, so if you are female, you can order a test kit for a male relative!

There is also a Facebook group for anyone interested in Cotton/Cotten genealogy:

A relative told me that she emigrated to South Africa.  Where did you find her living in Southgate in 1965?

Thanks.  I had that already.

His wife Ethel Matilda Petts died aged 58 in Jan/Mar 1929 but she is not mentioned in the local newspapers either and may well have been buried in Tottenham Cemetery.  Life would be so much easier if a Registrar who registers a death and gives permission to a cemetery to bury a body or to a crematorium to cremate a body, added the place of burial or cremation to the death certificate as they do in the USA, Canada and Australia.

Lambeth Council has three cemeteries and one crematorium and were not able to add all of their registers to Deceased Online and charges £7.70 per name search.  Anything under £10 seems reasonable.  Some Councils and Cemeteries charge as much as £30 per name search.

I do not find it reasonable nor funny, Carol

Yes, of course, but if the registers are added to Deceased Online, it means that the staff in the cemetery/crematorium offices should receive fewer enquiries and it shortens the time to locate a burial or cremation if more registers are added to Deceased Online, so a win-win situation for bereavement services officers and researchers like me.
