I have a new lap top with widows 8.1, and cannot open and run my family tree maker 6, I have the original installation disk , but still cannot open up my work , as the computer does not recognise the file

the family lived in worsbrough , st. Marys church is where they were baptised and buried, the children from the first marriage were.

I have a ancestor whos first wife died in childbirth in 1742, and remarried in 1743, then both husband and second wife  died in 1755, and 1756, what would have happened to the children

I wanted to know if my grandparents were still living together in 1925, as the child was bapt private and at home, every one in the family knew he wasnt my grandads, my grand mother wasnt a church person, so I thoight the electral rolls would answer the question.
On the childs birth cert. His second name is the surname of  suspect father, and his last name is my grandads name.
so I thought they may have separated

Thank you, I have a odd feeling that in 1925 a child was born and the father had left the mother, but on free B.M.D he is still listed as the dad, on the bapts. its a different story there is no father ,
