Have you solved your cleaton querey yet?  I am going to National Library of Wales on 28 July to research Cleaton's from Llanidloes.  Let me know if you want anything looking up and exact details.  We may however have something in common here!  I have been is contact with Dennis and have shared info although we can't link ourselves yet.
Look forward to hearing from you

Thanks for these ideas.  I am pretty certain of the spelling as it is taken from the census.  We are coming up to the national library at the end of the month so will try a trawl through records then after that we will get in touch with the Powys FHS.
Many thanks again

I am trying to find out more info about Gelf House in Pool, Welchpool in the 1860's.  This appears to be a girls boarding school.  It may be a calvinistic methodist school.  Any information about this or the location of records would be brilliant.
Many thanks

Unwanted Birth, Marriage, Death Certs A to G / Elizabeth Bound Plymouth Death 1874

Elizaberth Bound, widow of John Bound who lived in Plymouth workhouse who died on 21 Dec 1874.  Husband was a fisherman.

Over enthusiastic helper at records office (my mum) thought this was married name not maiden name so wrong person!

Marriage certificate for William Barnes who married Mary Puddi???? on Nov 15 1845.  Both from Chartridge.

Thought it was my  G Gfather x4 but he was a shoemaker from Chesham and not a labourer.  Wife's surname is also incorrect!

Sorry to be so slow at getting back to you, had to search out the relevant info!
We have a crest on the back inside cover and on the title page we have "Richard and Arabella Egerton 1819".
There is a further piece  "Mary B??? from her attached friend Francis Egerton" this however has no date.
My grandmother also has a painting of Colonel Egerton which was inhereted at the same time as the bible.

We believe that these are the Egerton's from Cheshire as the dates fit what we have managed to find out about Colonel Egerton.

Any further ideas?!

Wiltshire Completed Lookup Requests / Re: 1851 census Wiltshire

Thank you for this ;D.  Really useful.  It narrows the search down for him considerably as we now know where he wasn't.  Frederick became a doctor and moved to Ireland so it all fits in place.  Assuming Fred is bio son then we have a 13 year period to find his death and then a possible birth date and place.

Many thanks.
