Seeking information on the parents and grandparents of the above who lived in Fremantle from about 1910. She married Harold Camm after her graduation from Adelaide University and I believe she was the first W.A. born woman to graduate in Medicine. I also understand that her father was the Town Clerk of Fremantle City Council.

Dr Parker practiced in East Fremantle for many years.

Sorry Cando but I think that this is the wrong one. Our Rose Gillick didn't return to Australia until 29/1/1955  -  after this lady died.

Thanks for the lookup

Still working on Rose Gillick and I'm attempting to find a record of her death. In January 1955 she returned to Australia to live permanently in South Australia but I can find no record at all of her death in that state. I would be doubtful if she would move to another state and can only think that she may have returned to USA. Anyone able to help?

Many thanks

Trying to find details of the death of Rose Dorothy Gillick born 29.9.1886 at Craddock South Australia, daughter of Patrick Gillick and Bridget Gillick. Rose migrated to USA in 1920 and became a U.S. citizen in 1937. She returned to Australia on 29.1.1955 to live permanently with her sisiters Ellen Catherine Gilick and Margaret Gillick at 49 High St Glenelg. Both her sisters are buried in St Jude's Brighton Cemetery.

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks Sandery

As I mentioned earlier Annie Gillick nee Darmody is my wife's grandmother and the additional information you have supplied will help us to unravel more of the Darmody's. Incidentally we have Bridget Darmody marrying a Mr Reiken and they had at least one daughter Gladys. Only other thing we have found out is that  the Reiken's lived in Semaphore .

We'll be visiting Parachilna just after Easter as part of one of our grey nomad's trips and we're looking forward to seeing the old Pub etc.

Many thanks

Hi all

This is fantastic.Just the information we wanted to help finish off the family trees. These are all my wife's side and we have pretty much completed the Humphries family but it's still interesting to get more information. Visited the War Memorial last year to follow up on Harold William Humphries and that really started us on this family search.

Many Thanks

PS Still one more branch to go but I'll see what I can find before posting

England / Re: Joseph Chamberlain & Martha Strutt
« on: Thursday 05 March 09 23:05 GMT (UK)  »
Hi Madpants

Thanks so much for your reply but it does raise some doubts about information I have regarding Martha Strutt's parents. I show them as Joseph Strutt b. 1702 and Mary Young b. 1705 and marrying in Scotland in 1726. Questions raised are why would a couple from the south of England marry in Scotland and it's a bit unusual for a woman to give birth at age 57.
It seems more likely that her parents are as given in your reply.
