Donegal / Re: Doel - Alcorn 1846 marriage
« on: Friday 02 March 12 19:35 GMT (UK)  »
William Alcorn 1811-June 1889 married Margaret DOYLE 1821- April 1891 in St. John's C of I, Ballymore on 22 Feb 1846.
His father Gustavious Alcorn ( many in the area named this after the King of Sweden) her father William Doyle ( farmer on M/C).
Holy Trinity C of I in Dunfanaghy records their burials so probably buried in the Dunfanaghy graveyard - there is no gravestone.
I have 5 children born to them - with Augustus born 1848 died April 1921 married Isabella Stewart on 22 Feb 1877 in Holy Trinity,  Dunfanaghy.
I would be interested in the story of the 10 siblings of William - I know he has a sister Joanna who married Henry Connolly of the coastguard.
If you can contact me direct, I have oodles of info.

Australia / Isabella McHENRY nee ALGEO
« on: Friday 02 March 12 17:42 GMT (UK)  »
Isabella ALGEO married in Sydney to Daniel J. McHENRY in 1861. He died 1909, born Limerick, Ireland.
She was born in Co Donegal in 1840 to William Algeo and Catherine Pinkerton.
Emigrated in 1861 - but I cannot find any record of this.
Died on 20 Jan 1904 at 16 Busby Parade, Waverley and buried in the RC section of Waverley Gyd - I do not have any details from the gravestone.
On her death cert - a niece - looks like - N. Bright - the writing is very bad also living at the same address is the informant -- I have no idea who she might be - help !
Is there a census or other data which might find out who this niece is. ?
I cannot find any other Algeo's in NSW who are related to Isabella.
Many Thanks anyone who can help.
David in Co Antrim Ireland.

Many thanks Aghadowey.
Does this mean that the Samuel Blake on John Blake's birth certificate was just a 'made up' person for this registration purpose ?  I cannot find a birth certificate for this Samuel Blake - supposed birth circa 1881.
Does the baptismal certificate state all the details for John Blake ?

I have a birth cert for John Blake - born in 1905 to Samuel Blake and his wife Letitia Trolan of Crockindollagh- the informant was a letitia Blake the Aunt of Crockindollagh.
So this Aunt Letitia married Smyth im 1909 - I have the MC.
I could finds no marriage for Samuel and Leitita in the NI indexes nor in the Scottish indexes - Samuel appear5s to have been born circa 1881.
But although I can find several other children I cannot find any birth record for him.
So what you are saying is that the Letitia on the BC was in fact Letitia the Aunt as well ?
If so is Samuel a real person ?
I would greatly appreciate any Census or other help you can give.
Many thanks
