I have passed the information onto my friend and hope she manages to phone the archieves later today.  Not sure if we will manage to get any paper copies of anything but this really helps.

If anyone finds anything else I would be so happy to recieve it.

Once again

Thank you

Australia / Walter Herbert Albert Jewell

Hello all in Australia.

I am hoping someone can help me with some information on a man who went to Australia in 1946.  He was born in 1920 in London.  In 1980 he was in an elctoral record Name:Walter Herbert Albert JewellGender:MaleElectoral Date:1980Electoral Place:Caboolture, Fisher, Queensland, Australia.

I am searching for a friend who is related to him and family story is that he left the UK in a hurry as he was a bit of a bad boy.  He was not heard of again by the family.  She would like to find out if there are any relatives of this man still in Australia and about his life so she can tell the rest of the family before they get too old.

He is her uncle.  Even though his sister (her mother) is now dead there are several neices and nephews who wonder what happened to him.

I hope someone can give me some information for her.

Thank you
Jac

I also have a relative in the Indutrial School Hull on the 1891 census.  It says he was  born in the place his parents were living but he wasn't he was born in Hull.  His parents had moved and that is where the school put his birth place.  Not sure if this was usual but I expect they made mistakes with all of the children they had there.  I also cannot fathom why he is down as a musician in training ?

Wish I knew more about his early life but it his later life was colourful shall we say :)

Hope we both get more answers

Jac
