I got the birth from this---
Name:WHITESIDE, Alfred
Mother's name:Not available before 1966
Station :Halifax
Country:Canada
Year:1904
Page:730
Record source:GRO Army Birth Indices (1881 to 1965)

this confused me as the 1911 census gave me the Name Cyril born 1904 .
one of James service records  gave details of   his service in Canada and another confirmed son as Alfred born 1904.

Can I ask for advice in searching for a British service mans family movements.
James Whiteside was at  Nova Scotia from Sept 1902 to May 1904. On his records his wife was with him from Feb 1903, but have no idea if their other children accompanied her as I cannot find records. They had a son named as Cyril on the 1911 census born Nova Scotia Feb 1904, but on other records I can find so far he is named as Alfred Whiteside.

Hi everyone. whist searching to place a James Hudman that I'd found, I found another!!
In 1901 census James Hudman, aged 91 widower, born Ireland, living at 18 Camden Crescent,  Bath, living on his own means, with 3 servants.
I haven't found any other trace. I will be cross referencing  all James Hudmans that I can find, but has any one any ideas or  suggestions?

Yes, I know where they lived and as a child visited there.  The building had been turned into flats. Its now the home of the Interplanetary society.
I do have 4 photos of Frank on Ancestry, a cousin's husband also has them (and LOADS more of their side of family)
the one of Frank and Avis is in the yard of 29 South Lambeth road

My Grandfather, Frank William Nightingale b1896 Warnham Sussex, married in Brighton 1920. Between 1928 and 1930 the family moved to Lambeth, London.
I'm trying to find more about the work he may have done. I know he worked for Mr Rogers
(or Rodgers) and my mother was for a short period "companion" to Mr Rogers daughter.
Family legend tells that his job led him to do work on Big Ben and in one of the royal palaces.
I have also seen a newspaper cutting from 1956 ref aaccident were a large slab of marble slipped from scaffolding and several people, including my Grandfather narrowly escaped injury.
anyhelp or  suggestions greatfully received.
Happy New Year everyone!!

Hi all. Yes I agree that I will need to get the marriage certificate.

Using Ancestry  and the names of the 4 children that I know of and my mother in law knew that Stanley's mothers name was Kate, I got the surname Andrews and the Marriage from that.
