Suffolk Lookup Offers / MICKFIELD PRs
« on: Saturday 26 February 11 09:55 GMT (UK)  »
I have a copy of the Mickfield PRs on Microfiche and am prepared to do reasonable lookups (no blanket searches).

Please put a request in the Lookup Requests forum with "Mickfield PRs" in the subject. If I don't respond in a week or so, send me a pm.

Suffolk Completed Lookup Requests / *COMPLETED* Nacton Baptisms c 1760 - KEEN
« on: Saturday 26 February 11 07:54 GMT (UK)  »
Hi,
My gggg-grandfather, Henry KEEN(E) married twice in Debenham. In the first marriage entry he is stated to be "of Nacton". His age is given as 75 when he was buried in March 1837, giving a birth date around 1760-1762. I believe he was actually baptized in Wetheringsett, but I would like to double check before I spend too much time on that family.

Would it be possible to check whether there are any KEEN or KEENE baptisms in Nacton around 1760?

Kent Completed Lookup Requests / *COMPLETED* Bethersden Baptisms 1793-99 - TERRY-LAW
« on: Monday 21 February 11 11:25 GMT (UK)  »
Hi,
My husband's g....g-grandfather, Reuben Terry Law, was baptised in Bethersden in 1797. He was one of 3 (or 4) Law baptisms around that time with the middle name "Terry". Unfortunately LDS only filmed the Bishop's transcripts for Bethersden and these only give the child's name and date of baptism (no parents).
The baptism dates are:
8 Mar 1793 - Thomas John Terry Law
9 Dec 1797 - Reuben Terry Law & Maria Terry Law

There may also possibly be:
24 Oct 1799 - Winifred Terry Law (though this may be at Brooklands)

Would anyone be able to check the film of the original PRs at Maidstone and see if the parent(s) are given?

Thanks in advance,

Hi,

Could anyone look up a marriage for me in the Gislingham PRs. I have found in the Wetheringsett PRs the banns for the marriage of Henry Keen otp and Sarah Emerson of Gislingham. The date of the third reading is 21 Dec 1760. The marriage was not solemnized at Wetheringsett, so it seems likely it was at Gislingham.

Thanks in advance

PS - If this looks familiar it's because I stupidly posted it in the completed requests forum

« on: Saturday 19 February 11 04:08 GMT (UK)  »
Hi,
I'm transcribing some parish registers for FreeREG and I've come across a surname that has me stumped. The first 2 letters are Cu and in ends in -on or -om but I can't make out the middle ones.

Suffolk Lookup Offers / CRETINGHAM PRs 1670-1813 on FreeREG
« on: Friday 04 February 11 20:42 GMT (UK)  »
Hi all,
I'm transcribing the Cretingham PRs to the FreeREG database.
www.freereg.org.uk

1670-1812 is complete. I'm working on 1813 to 1900 and 1558-1670, but if you want a lookup in those periods I'm still happy to do one.

Norfolk / PRs of St Michael at Thorn - Do they exist
« on: Wednesday 16 June 10 11:09 BST (UK)  »
Hi all,
Does anyone know whether the original parish registers of St Michael at Thorn still exist?

The set offered by the Norfolk Record Office only contains 7 fiche (typical Norwich parish is 20+). Latter Day Saints have films of the Archdeacon's transcripts, plus some 19th century banns. Were they destroyed when the church was bombed?
