Hya Beans, William Beveridge who married Elizabeth Hynd were my 4x greatgrandparents. My mother's maiden name was Beveridge and I have traced the family back to the middle 1600's. I will take a look at my records and get back to you as Janet Brown rings a bell.Regards GEN10

Hya I think that you may have made a mistake in your message.

Robert Martin b1907, he married a Mary Notman b 19/06/1911.

If Robert was born 1907 then this would have made him only 4 at the time of his marriage. Is this correct?

Fife / Re: ISABELLA BEVERIDGE Found her!
« on: Sunday 02 March 08 21:45 GMT (UK)  »
Hya Tom, thanks for your message. You are correct about Susan Alexander's parents and her brother David my great grandfather was born 1880 in Beath. Many of my relatives still live in Beath or Cowdenbeath as it is known.

Isabella married Joseph Martin 1908 and Joseph died 30th Jan 1957 in Dunfermline, his usual residence is given as 129 Perth Road Cowdenbeath, his wife was mentioned on the death cert but not down as deceased. Joseph's death was caused by a coronary thrombosis and the informant on the cert was his daughter Bessie Simpson Martin who was married to a Clark Nairn MacDonald.

Your Isabella was most probably related in some way to my Beveridges as they all descended in some way from Alexander Beveridge and Christian Morrice.

According to the 1901 Census William and Susan Beveridge were living at 15 Arthur place, Catherine was now married to Walter Thomson.

William  Beveridge age 58 Male   Head Married Birth Place Halbeath    Occupation Coal Miner
Susan    Beveridge age 55 Female Wife Married Birth Place Stirling
David    Beveridge age 20 Male   Son  Un/Mar  Birth Place Cowdenbeath Occupation Coal Miner
Isabella Beveridge age 18 Female Daug Un/Mar  Birth Place Cowdenbeath Occupation Linen Weaver.

These are definitely my family, my granddad took me back three generations and gave me a good start (even though I didn't know it at the time) on the research of my family tree.

Isabella is still my bug bear so to speak. If they still lived in Cowdenbeath in 1957 then where did she go to? At present due to restrictions on SP I can't find any more family for them. I keep saying when I go up to Scotland to visit my relatives I am going to go to the registrars and check for any children they may have had.
Thanks for replying

Ireland / Re: Daniel Campbell & Helen McCulloch- where?
« on: Wednesday 02 January 08 13:30 GMT (UK)  »
Hello and thanks for the information that you gave me. I have looked at the census returns but, there are too many Daniel Campbells and it would cost me a fortune to look at every one, especially for the Lancashire area. Secondly I do know that the Campbells were catholics. I have census results for Daniel's son Robert and I also have his death cert.
I will take a look at the areas that you gave me for them and see where I can go from there. Once again thanks for the information and the tip that Hellen might be Ellen.
Have a happy, healthy and prosperous new year.

Hya Dannielle, have you got a death cert for James? This should give you his parent's names but only if the informant knew the names. Sometimes the information given by the person on the night of the census was not always correct. Try using family search on the web site below and try putting in the parent's names. You could aslo try Scotlands People and see if you can cross reference your information.

Harriet try Scotlands people. It's £6 for 30 credits. It's all self explanatory.
