Norfolk / 1901 lookup, Riches
« on: Sunday 25 October 09 14:05 GMT (UK)  »
Hi there,

I am looking for 3 brothers and their mother in 1901, so far no trace

Ethelinda (in 1891, her name is Ester) Riches b. 1841 in Tasburgh, Depwade. Have traced her up til 1891 and have found her death in 1920 in Norwich but nothing in between

She had 4 Illigitimate children as she never married. I have traced her daughter Laura Riches b. 1868, but she had 3 boys who I cant find either!!

William b. 1871 (cant find him in 1891 either!!) , Alfred b. 1873 and Frederick b. 1877 (have found these on 1891) All children born in Henstead according to bmd and Saxlingham according to ancestry records

Any help would be lovely

Australia / My great uncle Leslie from England
« on: Thursday 22 October 09 10:27 BST (UK)  »
Hi, I am hoping someone can help me.

My great uncle Leslie Riches b. 1929 in Norfolk England emmigrated to Australia when he was quite young. He died in 2001 in Maide Vale, Perth, I think!!
I'd like to know when he arrived in Australia, I know he had two marriages and maybe 3 children with the first wife and one with the second.
As these people could possibly still be alive, please pm me with anything found on this. I only know the first names of the wives, want to know maiden names and the dates of marriages and the dates of births of the children, again with them I only have their first names
If you would like the names please pm me
Many thanks for reading this

« on: Sunday 18 October 09 21:32 BST (UK)  »
Hi

Leslie A Riches b. 1929 in Yarmouth, Norfolk
Father, Jack Riches, Mother, Phillis Dyball

The problem is, I cant find either of Leslies 2 marriages!! I've been told during his first marriage he had 2 children (don't know their dates of birth and cant find a common mothers maiden name to link them!!)
And during his second marriage he had a daughter, again, dont know date of birth!

Then at some point, they emmigrated to Australia, where he died

Help!!  :-\

Family History Beginners Board / Lost Relative
« on: Wednesday 30 September 09 16:56 BST (UK)  »
Hi there,

I'm having difficulty tracing my great grandma's uncle.
His name was William J Grant b. 1880 in Battersea, London. His Parents were William Grant and Emma Bowgett. He had 5 siblings, Arthur b. 1882, Ada b. 1885, Charles b. 1888, Samuel b. 1891 and Frank b. 1894. I have traced all his siblings and found their families etc but I am struggling with William. He was an Engine Fitters Apprentice in the Navy (like his brother Arthur) but I cant even find a viable military record!

Any help would be appreciated
