Goodness, what a lovely restoration. I am not sure about the technical aspects of what you posted but quite sure it will be helpful to anyone else who would like to take this on!

Thanks to all for having a go at it. I am more than pleased!

I am laughing now because I am editing my response because I had used a frequently used internet abbreviation meaning "Oh my Goodness" and the program changed it into "Blimey". I'm not even sure what that means in UK English, so decided I had better change it, ha ha!!

That IS a good start. Much detail has been revealed. Thank you!

Is there any help for this badly faded wedding engagement photo? Any improvement would be appreciated.

Update: I have tried in vain to find the original of this photo. The only thing I have been able to find is the original scan that I made earlier this month. Why I can't find an original is beyond me. Is this any better? I see I scanned it at 600 dpi, but I didn't do any other modification or compression. This may be as good as it gets.

Thanks all. I need to find the original and see if I can rescan. it may be something I got from my brother in digital form. But, I shall recheck and re submit if I can find something better. Appreciate your advice.

Here's a challenging one. It's very dark, but I can just see some of the furniture and hope it can be restored to life. This was the home of my 2nd g grandparents near Leeds.

Thank you all. These are so different from one another and give me lots of choice. I sincerely appreciate your time and talents. This was one of those "lost" proofs from so many years ago.I had never seen it before it's recent discovery.
