« on: Tuesday 19 November 19 23:34 GMT (UK)  »
hi can anyone help or give me pointers to find info. my grandad was in the Lincolnshire regiment in ww2. the story he told me was the following. his regiment/batalition was playing football and he broke his leg and was sent home. while he was home his battalion/regiment was sent somewhere and as they were going ashore, they were ambushed and they all persished. and my grandad was the only one that didn't die because he broke his leg and sent home. ive been told it was not Dunkirk.. can anyone tell me how to find any info. i don't have any service number. i do have 1 photo of him in his uniform

hi can anyone help. im trying to trace anything on following family. various spellings heres some of them......Reachlouse / Rachelons / Retchless / Rekless / Reachlous / Reachlows / Rackalas / Rackelas. heres what i have so far.......Elizabeth Reachlous (Find My Past have transcribed it as Keachlows) was born 29/3/1803 and baptised 25/4/1803 -in market deeping Lincolnshire.(dont need info on her as have it as im desended from her. ) John and Elizabeth have another child, George, born 3/4/1805 and bap 12/10/1805 born market deeping i dont know any other info on him so if anyonr can help.
John Rachelas or Rachalas married an Elizabeth Osborne at Barnack (Northants, now Peterborough) 19/5/1801 - not very far from Market Deeping area
John Rackalas baptised 10/5/1786 at Morton by Bourne
a John Rachelous married an Elizabeth Watson at Rippingale (near Bourne) 22/11/1775
Also there are a George and Elizabeth Rachelas having children in the 1780s in Barnack, where they married 1777.
any info on any of them or any others with same names there are a few other spelling variations around would be greatly appreciated.
