Renfrewshire / Re: Dennys Bakery, Lynedoch Street, Greenock

Hello there,
I was sorry to hear about your Granpa's death. I lived in number 10 Lyndoch Street for a good few years and was often sent up the street to Denny's Bakery for rolls and my favourite honey buns. They were the best honey buns in the world :)
I will see if I can find any pictures of the shop amongst my collection.

Regards

Hello Lacey_Black. I was interested to read your post re Fullerton Dick and Christian Gray, Did you mean to say they were married in1799? My Fullarton Dick & Christian Gray were married in Linlithgiow in 1799. I would love to know if we have the same ancestors. Look forward to hearing from you.

That’s very helpful thank you. I have already been in touch with Betty who was most helpful. I will explore all possibilities and let you know how I get on. The Goebert are fairly distant relatives but interesting😊.
Thanks again

Ive been digging and found the information i got from the Nat Arch a few years ago. John McCormick was a 2nd Mate on the SS Sarah Jolliffe. He lived in Canada but was born in Scotland and was still classed as British. He drowned in Cork in Jan 1922. I've looked in the usual places but can't find any more information.
