The Common Room / Wills
« on: Tuesday 02 April 24 11:32 BST (UK)  »
Am not sure if this is the correct board but here goes!
I have a will dated 1830 in which the deceased leaves income from property to his wife, 3 daughters  (possibly unmarried) and eldest son. The eldest son is also an executor.
The youngest son, born 1819,from whom we are descended, is not mentioned at all.

Can anyone explain if this was a common occurence or deliberate for some reason.

Many thanks

It is possible to search the electoral rolls for Boulder online thru Ancestry.com.au. but you need to know his exact address to get the correct division as they are not indexed. I've done a few no success so will keep going.

From Trove.nla.gov.au  WA newspapers, the following references to Bert Truslove:

10 July 1952  Floral tributes to funeral at Keendenup from Bert and Ruby Truslove and family
April1953 Oct 1953 Mt Barker   ditto floral tributes                  ditto

So who is Ruby?

Apologies: Ruby Truslove d 2006 Memorial says wife of HERBERT. So no connection?

Wondering why he was mentioned in the SMH?

There is a tree on Ancestry stating that he died 1913 Virginia USA and a photo of his grave, with his wife Evelina.
Do you know what connection he had to Australia?

Other possibilities are that she is listed on  shipping record as "infant" as she may be under 1 yr old and her parents as Mr and Mrs Caldwell.
The marriage b/n Wm and Janet is confirmed Jan 1/4 1891 Wakefield.
Purchasing her death cert/obituary probably isn't a worthwhile exercise as the information given is only as accurate as the informant knows.
But it seems she was 105 yrs old!

There is an Ancestry tree which gives her date of birth as March 1891 no further detail.
She is not recorded on 1891 census April, and you would think she should be there if born March 1891.
The family is not listed on 1901 census UK so safe to assume they sailed b/n 1892 and 1901. They lived in Yorkshire as you say and perhaps Liverpool would be the closest port for departure.
Findmypast requires a subscription to check the Outward passengers from UK which I do not have.
Genes Reunited has same passenger lists but doesn"t like my email address.. haven't used that site for ages.

This link has Ann Burgess and John Burgess per Royal Admiral 1792.
Ann Burgess tried Inverness, John Burgess tried Surrey so not sure they are related?

Findmypast also has the same information.
