Hi

I am trying to track my father William Jenkins b 1886 living at 19 New Village Netherton 1891 census.
He ended up in Gem St Industrial School Birmingham by 1901, I have contacted Dudley Archives and they suggested that he may have been in the Workhouse prior to going there, see related topic

Warwickshire / Industrial Schools/Orphanages Help Please
« on: Wednesday 16 November 11 18:10 GMT (UK)  »
Hi

I an trying to trace my dads admission records, I know that on  the 1901 census he was in Gem St Industrial School, these admission records are covered by the 100 year law, but the Adoption Agency have done check for me, and there is no record for him,I do have his discharge  from there, they have suggested that he could have been admitted from another institute prior to Gem St and his admission records could be there.

His details, William Jenkins b 1886 Dudley Wood, on the 1891 census he is living with his parents Walter and Ellen nee Coley at 19 New Village Netherton

My question is, were there any Orphanage near to where he lived, or will I have to check every institution between Dudley and Birmingham, it seems strange that he ended up in a different County

Inverness / Sarah Campbell Two marriage look ups
« on: Wednesday 19 October 11 19:43 BST (UK)  »
Hi

I am trying to find 2 marriages for Sarah Campbell b 1829 Kilmorack Inverness

The 1st is to Captain? Russell
There daughter was Georgina Fraser Russell b 1851 Beauly Angus Scotland, I think that the Fraser comes from her mothers second marriage, on Georgina's marriage record it gives her father's name as Captain Russell, I am not sure if this his name or he was a Captain in the Navy  I have no death record for him

The 2nd to Thomas J or S Fraser on the 1861 census it is J and on the 1871 census it is S
he was b 1835 in Inverness they have 1 child together on the 1861 census Sarah Campbell Fraser b 1860 Kilmorack Inverness

Radnorshire / Baptist Record for John Tudor abt 1807 Clyro ?
« on: Wednesday 31 August 11 15:26 BST (UK)  »
Hi

I am trying to find a baptist record for a John Tudor born abt 1807

Clyro Census information
1841 b 1810 not of this parish
1851 b 1806 Michaelchurch
1861 b 1801 Clyro
1871 b 1808 Michaelchurch

He married Ann Sermon/Surman in 1833 both of the parish of Michaelchuch-On-Arrow they were married by banns with the consent of there parents  in the presents of Herbert Watkins and Ann Hobby.

Powys Archives have done a search for the baptism for John with no success, in the parish and the Bishops Transcript records but I think that this was for Michael-On-Arrow area only I believe that there were 2 churches in this area.

Could anyone point  in the right direction with local knowledge of this area to which records I could search next.

Thank you Margp
