Derbyshire / Re: Illegitimate children in Derbyshire 1820s - Denby Parish
« on: Friday 17 November 23 16:31 GMT (UK)  »
Hi,
You will not find any info re illegitimate births for Thomas & Anne Woolfit because as far as the Church was concerned they were registered as the children of Sarah Woolfit a married woman, even if her husband was dead.

You do not say when Joseph Woolfit died, do you have this information? Where and when he died could lead to his Will.

Are you also aware that a William Woolfit, also of the Parish of Harmston, Lincolnshire married
Sarah Hunt on 2nd January 1821 Denby Derbyshire.

What relation was Joseph to William?

Hi

James Winfield = Sarah Webster 10th March 1828 Bradley Derbyshire
per Ancestry image of Register
https://www.ancestry.co.uk/discoveryui-content/view/629808:61409

So  Elizabeth = Geary was born about 1824 according to 1851 census, perhaps look for a birth of an Elizabeth Webster mother Sarah Webster.

I also note that on the 1841 census Elizabeth Winfield, with parents James & Frances is aged 10 year so born about 1831.  This could be a different Elizabeth perhaps born to Frances prior to her marriage to James Winfield.

will keep looking

Hi

You need to supply more information, for instance  Victoria Augusta Temple when and where was she born, you know her father so where and when was he born?

It is always best to trace your ancestors backwards,

If you give detailed info on what you know you will get more assistance.

Hi,

Ellen, Walter & Ann travelled from Liverpool to New York arriving on 28th September 1847.
This can be seen on Ancestry under
New York, U.S., Arriving Passenger and Immigration Lists, 1820-1850.
Ellen 40   Born abt 1807
Ann 21       "      "   1826

In 1850 Census the three of them are in Smithfield District, Providence, RI.

This Late,1828 -1831 Giles should be in passenger records.

Hi Morris,

"Bridge Hill" is an ecclesiastical district, the C of E parish church is named Christ Church. Baptisms start for Christ Church in 1946.

Re cemetery records will be indicating which "Parish" the deceased was from.
