Hi,
There are a number of documents held by Derbyshire Record Office, which name Martin Farnell.

He purchased the Lordship of the Manor of Cotton in the Elms in 1795, this is the connection

This is connection to other documents in which he is named

Hi,

You can only see part of the redacted entry on the 1939 Register on Ancestry, it does not show on  Findmypast.

You can also see a birth date  2? May 39, so does look as if it may be your G. Mother.
Also living at the same address is a Thomas Walker born 22 Feb 1878, a widow could this possibly be your Mothers Grandfather?

Thomas is on the 1891 Census Ilkeston with his Parents William & Lucy Walker living at 21 Stanton Road.  Also on 1881 census Ilkeston, but William is not at home.

If you do not have access to Ancestry, try your local library.

Hi
Ernest Clarke birth 31 December 1918 (re birth certificate)

He appears to have gone by the name of Ernest Collin, he marries Muriel D Ray December Q 1939 Manchester vol 8d  pg 828. If you search for this on FreeBMD you will see there are two entries
one for Collin one for Clarke.

Muriel D Ray  born 15 Feb1918 living Manchester easily found on 1939 register take a look at the married surname entered.  Her death is recorded 1991 Oldham, Muriel Davies Collin DOB 15.2.1918.

As previously posted Ernest Clarke death 2006 Blackpool birth 31.12.1918.

Cannot post, at least 1 Child identified because may be living. So search Free BMD birth  Collin mothers maiden name Ray, Lancashire.

Can understand why he used Collin,  this kind couple obviously were his parents, however he did know when and where he was born and who his mother was.

Probable marriage Lily Clarke married  Ernest Grace September 1923 Belper.

His first wife Elizabeth Yeomans he married December Q 1903 (no children)?
Ernest born 8th May 1878 living 1921 Parish of Hazelwood, Belper with his in-laws.
His wife Elizabeth dies in 1921.

So when Ernest was born 1919 he was unable to marry lily, she appears to have named her son after him.  They do marry Sept Q 1923 Belper.

They have a daughter named Lily born 15th Jan 1924 so would have been pregnant on her marriage.

I have also received an email offering an up grade. My present pro sub runs out in a few days so thought I would upgrade.

However when I attempt to do this it is only showing a discount of 15%, stating that my sub will be
£169.99.  So £29.99 more than it should be.

Cannot telephone them as they do not operate phones at weekend, have emailed but give little hope of receiving a reply before tomorrow when offer runs out.

Hi,

I note that her brother Thomas born 1823 was also bpt same day and that their Farher William was a china maker.

There are lots of members of the Bourne families connected to various potteries in Derbyshire & Staffordshire who were of Independent Faith.

To assist more information is required, when where and who did Hannah born 1823 marry?

What Census information do you have?
