Could some kind soul look this guy up. Andrew Forbes, named as a glassblower on 17th July 1859 when his son Joseph Forbes, 31, labourer, Sherbourne Street, Birmingham, married Helen Rebecca Price, 29, dressmaker, dau' of John Price, coal dealer.
I'm hoping he's from Edinburgh and that I have the right county here. Many thanks.

Scotland / Jimkabout Mill, two of them?
« on: Sunday 16 June 13 07:18 BST (UK)  »
Folks, any idea why there was a corn mill named Jinkabout near the mouth of the River Avon, Bo'ness, prop' the Duke of Hamilton, like nearby Kinneil, and another named Jinkabout, corn/paper mill, on the Water of Leith, Edinburgh, can't just be coincidence?
The first was the intended site for the Carron Iron Works but the land was strictly entailed and the developer could only obtain a 100 year lease, so the site on the Carron at Falkirk was chosen instead.
The Bo'ness mill has vanished completely under industrial use.

Any thoughts appreciated,

Skoosh.

My g,g,grandfather, John Forbes, a glassworker from Edinburgh, pops up in Brookwalls, a very small place near Cromford, about 1850 where he married a Staffs lassie and my g,grandfather Henry Frederick Forbes was born. They then moved to Stourbridge wher both were glassworkers.
Stourbridge was the place for glass, what would he doing in a place like Brookwalls?
