« on: Tuesday 09 April 13 15:20 BST (UK)  »
My g,g,grandfather, John Forbes, a glassworker from Edinburgh, pops up in Brookwalls, a very small place near Cromford, about 1850 where he married a Staffs lassie and my g,grandfather Henry Frederick Forbes was born. They then moved to Stourbridge wher both were glassworkers.
Stourbridge was the place for glass, what would he doing in a place like Brookwalls?

Folks, an entry in OPR on banns & marriage in 1712. There are charges of £5.12/- Scots, plus 12/- Scots, for the poor.  Any ideas what these relate to. Was there a charge for calling the banns?
