Armagh / Catholic burials Tandragee

Hi all,
I was passing through Tandragee today and decided to stop off at the RC church for a look around the graveyard on the off chance there would be any names I recognise. (I have an ancestor I can't trace later than the 1911 census).

It turns out there is no graveyard at the church  ::)  So, where were/are Catholics of the town buried?

Northamptonshire / Re: Kerr Street, Northampton.

It would have been near Wood St and Church Lane (St Sepchulre)
also known as Upper Mounts and near Campbell Sqaure Police Station.

More than likely where the Crown Courts (in Ladys Lane are now) although I
am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong.  :)

You're dead right.  I've found this map of Victorian Northampton very handy for finding lost streets.

Found an obituary at and from that possibly a reference for a UK marriage. Thanks again for the great leads!  :)

He seems to have died slightly earlier than I thought, but serving in both the navy and the army fits with what I know about him. I'd be astonished if that isn't him.

Service numbers and possibly a way to contact people who may have known him. What a result! :) Thanks Valerie

Maybe if you posted name, y.o.b. and p.o.b. we could find his wife's name -which would give more information for a search for maybe their arrival in Canada

Hi Suz, the man I'm looking for is Stephen Charles Webster, b. 16/1/1925 in Hartwell, Northamptonshire.

Fingers crossed. The reason I am keen to find out about him is, according to family legend, he had a very interesting WW2 (some type of commando, possibly in the early days of the SAS).

Canada / Looking for info on great-uncle

I am looking for info on my great-uncle who emigrated from England to Canada sometime after WW2. I do not have much info other than he was married with no children, died some time around 2000 (+/- 5 years) and lived in the Toronto area. Where to start looking as I believe Canadian records are closed for quite a long time after death.

It's the groom's father from a 1950 English birth marriage certificate. (Sorry for the confusion folks  :-[)
