But if William Beddowes was her son and he died in 1915 aged 15 months surely she couldn't have remarried until after his birth in 1913
or am I missing something

Hi Wendy

I have looked at another member of my family that was married before and on the birth cert for the child it states
Rachel Behn late Massey formerly Boulton ( I don't know if the late relates to the fact that she was widowed)

How will I find out if Ethel was married before without marriage cert between her and William Brett which seem difficult to locate any reference too
Was there such I thing as electoral roll in 1915 for Wrexham, if so where would I find that information

Hi Wendy

Unfortunately I do not have any further information on Ethel Beddowes/Brett.

Interesting enough I have just heard back from Wrexham BMD and they can only find a William Beddowes that died in 1915.
We have found an entry for a William Beddowes aged 16 months, There is no entry for a William Brett but interestingly mum was Beddowes but then became a Brett.

So you could be right that she had been married before

Do we know the age of William Beddowes at his death.

It is 8 the walks wrexham that James Brett was born at, sorry I mislead you, so William Beddowes must have been related to Ethel Beddowes
