Best way to make sure, is to obtain the birth certificate, reference I quoted is from Free bmd.

Is this the correct birth. There are numerous births by same surname around this time.

There is a possibility that he was buried in the grounds of the workhouse, unmarked grave.

The Common Room / Re: What would you do?

You do not give any indication of what age your newly found relative is,but seems to me that this is not very recent history.Just go ahead and send a friendly letter to this person via the care team.
Would not worry about sending letters to the rest of your large family,no one but you appears to have had much previous thought about this poor soul after all.Do the right thing ,its Christmas.

Its quite outrageous that this large imposing building has just been left to rot, when so many homeless folk need a roof over their heads. The history of the house in itself is surely worth investigating in detail anyway.

Ancestral Family Tree DNA Testing / Re: DNA awful muddle

Brigidmac,You really pulled out all the stops to help me,and took endless time to do so, thank you again.

Its the Thru Lines which still show my grandparents as parents,in spite changing it.This does not really matter as its only based on suggestion from my existing Ancestry Tree.

But my Tree has the correct info since having my dna results,WHICH IS THE IMPORTANT PART.
Brionne.

Yes,looks like you are correct. My grandmother 1880-1940,could not have had any children past the age of 47/8 years  at the very latest [late 1920s] Thanks.
