Oh, I'd simply blamed it all on Microsoft, "they" have been causing me all sorts of headaches recently. Quite fed up between them and "Virgin".
Thanks

Technical Help / Blank bar, no mini-icons, along bottom of screen
« on: Sunday 07 January 24 13:49 GMT (UK)  »
Blank bar at bottom of screen, suddenly - perhaps it's a co-incidence, but same day as L-O-N-G time trying to get Virgin to help me access own e-mail service (Well, it worked then for a bit after 2 long phone calls to a real person - yes!) - but I still couldn't get to sign in myself!!
Then I noticed no little icons for files, pictures, Word or even jigsaws, at all along bottom.
Has anyone any idea why, or what I can do about it? I always blame microsoft, but....

Been up in hot air balloons several times, mostly years back, in Britain, always wanted to, and when I finally got up, really loved the experience, each time, Caw1. One trip was over snow-covered north Yorkshire. Really good. Enjoy it.

" Ice wine" - really sweet, from frost-bitten grapes, is my choice to bring in a new year nowadays. First met it from Austria, now delight in it from Canada. It's become a tradition for us - normally I'm a red wine person, or an Aperol spritz, but the Pelletier vineyard seems to do a lovely job.

Thank you from me, too, for several years, since I discovered this site, of information, fine advice, and
even proxy friendship. It's excellent, long may it flourish, and its founders and contributors.

The very boring, little of interest ancestors that I have all over my tree at least mean that I'm spared such guilt as Nudge67 has felt. The worst I can muster is a workhouse master who it appears lost his place, for being too kind!

We stayed up, and there were very noisy fireworks in the area, wet underfoot but not actually raining. Best wishes to all for 2024 - and as I mentioned on previous thread, my decorations will descend on 5th January. Always have done so they're down for 12th night.
