Can anybody tell me where old staff records may be located. I believe my grandmother worked there in the early 1900s.
Thanks in advance

Thank you all for your replies.
Derek , I don't believe this is my lady. Mine is definitely Olga Elizabeth Wilson and she did die in 1972. Sometimes she had Hailstones as a third christian name. Her maiden name was Watt.

Nookie , Thanks for your email about where the records are kept. I did think about writing to the crematorium and may do so anyway. I will try a look up request as well.
I also looked at the archives with no success as well.

Thanks also to you Ruth. I will keep looking at the Family Search site for any new records.

I am going off on a bit of a tangent here but as it appears it may be difficult to get a copy of the death notice would it be better if I tried to trace the family another way. I believe Olga was part of a a fairly prominent family in East London. Her husband was part owner & managing director of Wilson Rowntree up until about 1960. Perhaps there are some other sources where I could access family details by posting a different request??

Once again thanks for all your help.

South Africa / Olga Elizabeth Wilson - Death notice
« on: Saturday 05 January 13 22:18 GMT (UK)  »

This is my first time at this so I hope I get it right. This relative died in 1972 exact date not known. A plaque with these details is in the Cambridge Crematorium East London. How can one access the death notice as it is not at the archives and I presume the details would be held at the Master of the High Courts Office. I am based in the UK so any advise would be great. I am trying to trace the family and thought the death notice might help with my quest. If at all possible how easy is it to apply for these details.

Olga was married to Douglas David Wilson of the Wilson Brothers confectioners in East London.
