Hi Chris,
This is part of another request I have just made in the London Lookups, i thought it may help you a bit.

"James' age at the time of the 1861 census is disputable because when he married in 1853 he was said to be 30yrs putting his year of birth at c.1823,but when he died in 1871 his age was 56 yrs this pushed his birth year back to c.1815. so in 1861 he could be either 38 or 46  :o.

What I do know for certain is that:
Honor/Honour Kilroy (nee Pryke) would be 29/30 yrs old, born c.1832 in Barrow Suffolk
William Kilroy would be 1/2 yrs, born c.1859 in Barrow, Suffolk"

Im hedging my bets I know but only because I don't know if this family was in Suffolk or London during 1861.

I really do not know alot on James apart from what is above and that during the 1850' he was a soldier who at sometime met Honour and married her in 1953 in Bury St Edmunds.  In 1859 in Barrow their first child William was born and then their second child was born in 1862 in Bloomsbury London/Middlesex. Honour's family where from Barrow, she being one of the children of William Pryke and Frances or Fanny Sparrow of Barrow.
I'm afraid that I can't tell you the exact year James Kilroy was born, either it was c.1815 or 1823 and that is all I know. I do not know where he was born either and Im desperate to find out.
James died on 10th March 1871 so he wouldn't be on any census other than the 1861.

London & Middlesex Completed Lookup Requests / 1861 cenus lookup- Bloomsbury
« on: Saturday 29 January 05 22:33 GMT (UK)  »
If someone could spare the time I really would be grateful for a lookup in Bloomsbury for James Kilroy and his wife Honour and son William.
Im desperate to know the birth place of James Kilroy as im pretty sure its not England but really need to know what was on the 1861 census to confirm this.
James' age at the time of the 1861 census is disputable because when he married in 1853 he was said to be 30yrs putting his year of birth at c.1823,but when he died in 1871 his age was 56 yrs this pushed his birth year back to c.1815. so in 1861 he could be either 38 or 46  :o.
What I do know for certain is that:
Honor/Honour Kilroy would be 29/30 yrs old, born c.1832 in Barrow Suffolk
William Kilroy would be 1/2 yrs, born c.1859 in Barrow, Suffolk

Bloomsbury district is where the family settled after relocating from Barrow sometime between 1859 and 1862 where their next child was born and they where still in bloomsbury up until James' death in 1871.

The only help I can give you as to whereabouts in Bloomsbury they might be living in 1861 is in St George/St Giles area, as this is where their second child Elijah was born.

Any help is appreciated.

Suffolk Completed Lookup Requests / 1861 census lookup please

Would some kind soul look up the suffolk 1861 census for James Kilroy and his wife Honour and son William.
Its possible that this family will be in Barrow (Thingoe district) as this is the home village of Honour (nee Pryke).Im not sure if they will be there, but its worth a shot :-\.
Im sorry I can not be more specific about their whereabouts at this time and if they can not be found in Barrow they could be anywhere in Suffolk.

Iam absolutely desperate to find out where James Kilroy was born and not having alot of luck tracking him down so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Marie,
Thank you so very much, I think you could be right, they could be mine although williams age is a bit off, but someone told me to look at the 1881 census on the LDS site and I think I have the same family in Little Lever (all the names correspond and birth places, plus Henry's occup ) and they have williams age in the right time frame.

Without someone like you helping I would be lost, once again thanks, your an angel ;D

regards

Kat
