Boer War

Hi

My great granduncle was William Lorenzo Bennett, born 1857 in Truro, Cornwall. He served with the Royal Artillery. I have him on 1881 and 1891 census, but not 1901. As I cannot find a death for him in that timescale, I wondered if he may be serving in the Boer War. Is there any way of checking this at all?

pauline,the only way to confirm it is to check the kings and queens south africa medal rolls,someone on the great war forum may have a copy,many of us on there have interests in other wars so you may be lucky,good luck,mack

hi pauline, i will try and check with my ber war fundi to see where his unit was based buring the boer war.  if we can establish this he may be listed on a casualty list.  cross fingers. izabel
