1861 or 1871 census lookup for Hawthorn/Hawthorne please

Looking for a James Bryan Hawthorn/Hawthorne born 1846 Stafford on 1881 census he is a Ship Steward.Any info would be great. On 1881 census his wife is Mary b 1847 Glasgow and 2 children Margaret b 1874 Glasgow and Ellen b 1876 Glasgow.

I couldn't find him  >:( have you tried Scotland? If he was at sea a lot then he may just be missing.
I could find Mary and the children in 1991 and 1901 but I expect you have them.
Hope someone else is more successful. :)
