I have been to the Victoria Public Records Office Website and downloaded Assisted and Unassisted Immigration Lists

Can anyone tell me what "A" means in the Age Column

Also If i went to the PROV would it have any more information about the passangers than the limited information shown on the database

Thanks for this general information and good luck with all your searches

May I say thankyou to everyone that has helped me with my searches and to everyone who will help me in the near future it is greatly appreciated

Hi tigerbelle

The "A" adult over 21.

Information you will find on the microshire is which port the ship sailed from when it left, who the master was etc.

With regards to passengers it can give nationality and occupation.  whether they're steerage passengers or cabin passengers.  Sometimes there are comments written by the master of the ship regarding the voyage.

The microfiche are available at the PRO, State Library and various other family history societies.  The F, B, or N in the reference indicates which set of fiche to look at.

Cheers
Genni
