This photo shows Sissy, second left next to my Grandmother Millicent. I don't know who the chap on the left is with his arm around Sissy. One of the brothers perhaps with his wife on the right of the group? Taken in the late 1950's is my guess.

I've sent them to Phillip (Ashman) to see if he recognises anyone or sees any family resemblances.

I'm confused about him calling the lady you know as Sissy Agnes. I know from doing some tree research for my partner that they did have an Agnes but on a different line.

I think I need to draw the tree out for him so he can get the gist a bit more easily of the different people in the different branches.

Thanks for that,

I agree with your thoughts about Agnes, I think Philip is wrong about her, but I didn't like to say so because you are both trying to be so helpful. At the moment, I think Sissy could be Mable Emily ( as I found out today ) or Sarah Ann.
It would be great for me, as well, if you could copy me in on the George Henry family tree, when you get round to doing it.
I have one or two more photo's to post.  I can be of more help, please let me know.

Kind Regards,
Colin

He said that his grandfather's sister Sarah Ann more or less brought up his father's sister who was also called Sarah Ann and they called both of them Sissy. He claims that Sissy was a pet name for sister.

This photo was taken outside the Grand Pavilion Porthcawl. The South Wales Miners often held annual conferences in the Pavilion, so it might be something to do with that.
My Grandfather, William John, on the left. I don't know who the others are, but the chap on the right has to be related - doesn't he? He looks older than my Grandfather and is obviously using a walking stick, but they look so much alike. Could this be George?

You say George died in 1942. The photo could have been taken about that time.

This photo was taken in Barry island according to the photographers stamp on the back.
My Grandfather and Grandmother left and right. I have no idea who the woman and the children are. My gut feeling that she is a Niece on my Grandfather's side of the family which would make her the daughter of George, Sarah, Mable, John, Charles or Harry.

Did you say your Grandfather was John or William?

Phillip didn't recognise anyone in the other pictures unfortunately. He wasn't born until 1950 so didn't know his paternal grandparents at all.

I've almost finished putting together the Ashman names I have going back to Somerset where they came original, will hopefully send through later this evening.
