Thanks for the information Lynne and Janis-much appreciated!

Lynne, I am almost sure that the Mary Prudhoe in your family tree was my great great grandfather's neice. His name was Edward Prudhoe and he had a brother John born in 1803, who I believe was Mary's father.

On the 1851 census for Blaydon, Mary is included in Luke Biggins household, but it looks like one of their sons, James, is visiting his grandfather John (listed as Pruddah), who is also living in Blaydon.

Hi,

My mother's maiden name is Prudhoe (Anona) and her father was Claxton Prudhoe who had a brother called Roy Prudhoe. They lived in the North of England. I don't know much more - will ask.

I think Grandad's mother was called Annie and his father John and they lived up in Blayden I think
