Ferndale Burials 1900
« on: Monday 07 November 05 17:10 GMT (UK) »
Seeking info. on Sarah BISHOP died 21st October, 1900 who I believe is buried at Ferndale Cemetery.  Also looking for other family members who may be buried with her.   Believe these members to be her grandchildren.   Also looking for Henry WILLIAMS who was Sarah's first husband.   He died at Cymmer, Llantrisant  24th October, 1872 but not sure of his burial place.

Unable to help with Ferndale, only Trealaw.  You can obtain a 'look up' from Treorchy or Aberdare reference libraries via email - if you do not get a response. (google for address)

There are also a lot of 'Bishop's' buried at Penrhys Cemetery, Rhondda (post 1900).   This is quite close to  Ferndale area and online.  Worth checking ?

Hope this helps

Thanks very much, but can you find if anyone else is buried with her, as we understand it may be a multiple occupancy grave. Sarah is my double great grandmother

According to my electronic records there are numerous people buried in plot Y55 at Ferndale Cemetery - most of whom are WILLIAMS.

Here are the details (Sarah Bishop you already have):

Catherine Ann Williams, 5 months, 1910
Winifred Williams, 10 months, 1904
Violet Williams, 15 days, (no year given)
Lavinia Rosina Williams, 1 month, 1908
Mildred Edwards, 1 month, 1914

Hope this helps.

Sorry...scrap the reference for Catherine Ann....that should be Wyndham G Williams, 5 months, 1910.  The eyesight isn't what it used to be!  Hope these names mean something to you.

Much appreciated info. We were led to believe that there were twin brothers who may be buried here. Mildred Edwards has completely baffled us as we are not aware of any Edwards in the family, unless she is the granddaughter of one of Sarah's sons

Hi,

Do you do searches for 1977 ?

I am trying to find the plot number for a Susan/Susannah Cole who passed away in 1977 and was buried in Ferndale Cemetery. We also think her Husband Alfred Cole, he died before Susan, but unsure of the date.
Thank you
