Sorry can't help with your query. My Millingtons probably too old and their offspring probably too young to be your witnesses of 1865. But who can tell!! Best wishes, Paul

Hi Paul

My wifes family line is Millington from Manchester, at the monemt I can only go back about 100years as I am finding this line hard to untangle.

What part of Manchester are they from? the ones I am after come from North & North East Manchester. this covers areas like Moston, Ancoats, Beswick etc

Ken

Hello Ken,

my Millingtons are originally from Runcorn,Cheshire.
In 1861 Mary Ann (b.1832) & William( b. 1828) were in Hulme, Manchester.
That's where they stayed : I can trace them till 1901.

Regards
Paul

Hi Paul

Hulme is only a couple of miles from my known Millington location of around 1910ish.

Who do you have at 1901.

Regards
Ken

Hello Ken,

The Millingtons I can trace to 1901 are my Millingtons.
in 1901 Mary Millington was living with her daughter and son-in-law
William Sunman @ 8 Maple St. South Manchester Lancashire

The certificate I have is of  other Millingtons and I know nothing further of them apart from this one (wrongly ordered) certificate.

Happy New Year

I am looking at this Millington family, William/Mary Ann Moore.  I think my ancestor, Mary Ann Millington is their daughter but the catch is she is never with them in the census, but with her Aunt Elizabeth Kenworthy (nee Millington) in 1861 and 1871.  Only Elizabth Kenworthy had remarried Joseph Gill.
I would be very interested in the details on the marriage certificate and if you can throw any light on William's parentage - in 1861 he sats he was born in Runcorn.

Hope you are still there!
