Private RMLI - 1881.. Completed with thanks.
« on: Monday 14 November 05 15:33 GMT (UK) »
I've a "possible" ancestor, shown on the 1881 census at " Hospital Barracks & Hospital" Walmer Kent.  The 1871 census shows him at Royal Marine Barracks. Walmer. Kent, details: Private R. In: ( don't know what that means) 1891 census shows him as a Pensioned Soldier. Would anyone have any idea what service he may have seen, I'm stumped  ???  Lyn

Hi Chris.  Sorry I didn't make my question very clear. I knew what the RMLI stood for, I just wondered if anyone had any idea where the RMLI would have served in those years.
