Help reading a census return

??? I wondered if anyone could help me read the place name in Nottinghamshire

Sarah
Manchester - Middleton, Roberts, Bentley, Pieri. North Yorks - Middleton, Robinson, Shepherd, Peacock, Sigsworth. Notts - Wass, Durance, Lowe. Leics - Henton, Debrex (or Deverex or Devereux etc etc!). Middlesex/London - Messenger, Pieri, Roach. Sussex - Messenger. Ireland - Pieri, Collopy

Hi Sarah,

I reckon it's S Muskham

there is a Robert Bentley on the IGI baptised at South Muskham 12/11/1817 to William and Anne. Possible?

Yes- that would work as he is registered as 52 on his death certificate in July 1869 -  ;D

Now I'm licky enough to have found William Bentley, Robert's father, on the 1851 census - but Ican't read where he was born - please could you help me with this?

Thanks Steve that's great  - I've just found him on the 1861 census aged 89 and it says Kersall - which I think is around the same area.
