watsons of boyndie/banff
« on: Wednesday 23 November 05 03:01 GMT (UK) »
Hi all,
My husband is a  direct descendant of the Watsons/Lovie/Downie/Findlay clan.
I am trying to trace William Watson born 1773 married Jean Lovie born 1789.
They had 7 children Jean, William, John, James, Alexander, Henry and George.
Any info on William & his parents would be appreciated.
Regards
Princess1

Michele,
Thanks for the info, however, we have no "ritchies" in our family.
The surnames fitted, so far I have

Jean Lovie 26/8/1783 dau of John Lovie and Jean Watson,
Jean married a William Watson.......... thats it so far!!

If you come across any more, I would be most interested.
Kind regards

Hi Princess,
I am wondering if we are related. My GG Grandfather is David Lovie born Mar 08 1829 Whitehills, Boyndie, Banffshire Scotland. His parents were:
Lovie, James
b.  Apr 11 1806
Whitehills Boyndie, Banffshire Scotland
 d.  Mar 01 1864 and
 b.  1806
Boyndie, Banffshire, Scotland
 d.  1845
James Lovie's parents are:
Lovie, John,
b.  Whitehills, Boyndie, Banffshire Scotland
Findlay, Jean
b.  Boyndie, Banffshire, Scotland

Let me know if we have a match.
Warm Regards
Wendy

now...because jane/jean lovie lived passed the magical 1855, you will be able to get her death cert from scotlandspeople's website, which will contain the names of her parents.
