George Aitken Allan
« on: Tuesday 29 November 05 18:17 GMT (UK) »
Hi guys,

I am still loking for a relative of mine who possibly stayed in Canada after doing his National Service with the RAF in the early 50s.
He was George Aitken Allan born 14th June 1926 at Towie, Clatt to William Allan and Helen ms Taylor.  His mother died in 1927 and he possibly was brought up with other relatives maybe his uncle John Smith Allan and his wife (who ever that was as you cannot get mariages after 1926 on Scotlands People).
His father re-married in 1933 to a Mary Middleton and went on to have two further children, Mary & Norma.
His father died in 1951 but I know that he did not attend the funeral but possibly went AWOL as he visited his aunt in Barre Vermont around this time.

As far as I know George never came back to Scotland and has not kept up contact with his sisters.

If anyone can shed any light on this please do,

Best Regards,

Swally

He changed his name to Charles John Roberts.

He died in 1996, if anyone can shed some light.

Ta,

Hi Crisane,

Yeah that's my man.  Thanks for the help.  I have contacted the tree owner, Shelby, about a month ago, looking for further information.  She popped one back on Tuesday of last week to which I replied.
She obviously doesn't check her fleamails too often.

Regards,
Swally

John's wife was a widow when they married although that is not recorded on the marriage record. her maiden name was Worthington. She married a James Arthur Guilmet 27 May 1960 Kitsap, Washington, USA. He was born Vancouver, British Columbia and went to live in the US 23 December 1929. He died 19 August 1974 Washington, Washington.
He was 42 when they married in 1960 and she 24.

He married quite late in life then, although they were possibly an item before then.  I wonder if they married knowing that he was going to pop his clogs?

Thanks again,

Swally

I have added some details to my last post.
I amjust doing the calculations re birth of children and his wife was born c1936 and they married 1995. She would have been 56 so not the mother of the children listed on the public tree.
Looking at the tree more closely I see there are two spouses listed for John/George but are both private
