Hi Jen, this is the info on my grandfather.
NAME= Thomas Amos Warburton
wife = Mary Ann Warburton (formerly Thorp)
Address = 18 Garden street, chorlton-upon-medlock,
chorlton, manchester.

other info= he was married twice, to his first wife (Ann as above) 3 children, Bella (ISABELLA) Thomas (born 1923)
and Edward.
to his second wife he again had 3 children, Walter Arthur Warburton,(my father born 1935) Francis (daughter) and
Jimmy.
I believe my grandfather also had a sister named Emily who married a Joseph Shelton and i believe they had at least 2 children, jimmy and Charlie.
I had a go at trying to check out Joseph Shelton at the national Archives on the web and found only one who was in the Manchester Regiment, not positive what so ever that it's the Joseph Shelton that i'm looking for, it would be
a dream to find out that he was married to an Emily and had 2 boys named Jimmy and Charlie.

If ther is any other type of info you require, let me know and i will see what i can find, don't know if ther of any help but i do have photos of Joseph Shelton and Thomas Amos Warburton, and Emily.

anything you can come up with would be fantastic, of course i will also be looking to see what i can come up with.

many thanks Jen

best regards

jim

Jim,

you could also try ordering a marriage certificate for Thomas Amos and Mary Ann.

You have an approximate date of the marriage (based on the DoB of the first child) and also the district they were living in.

The marriage cert should also give the names of the brides and grooms father. A word of warning though, fathers names and occupations are not always correct.

My ggf gave his fathers name as Robert, occupation agricultural labourer. In fact "Robert" was Humphrey and a master carpenter.

Anyway, good luck.
