No such place as Kilnamulla?
« on: Saturday 03 December 05 17:27 GMT (UK) »
On the wedding cert of one of my ancestors, the place of residence is given as Kilnamulla & Buttevant. Buttevant is clear enough, but I've searched and trawled for Kilnamulla in County Cork but nothing!

So if any Cork native has got any good ideas - they'd be most welcome!

hopefully.

I'm not a native, but could it be Kilnahulla?  I don't know exactly where in Cork they are located,  but there are two townlands called Kilnahulla More and Kilnahulla Beg.
CAMPBELL (Balleghan), DOUGLAS(S) (Carrowhugh) - Lower Moville, Co. Donegal
HUSBAND(S) (Sneem), SULLIVAN (Kenmare) - Kenmare, Co. Kerry
KEARNEY (Kilmurry/Castleisland), O'CONNOR (Shanaknock/Ballymacelligott) - Tralee, Co. Kerry
KEEFFE (Ballyhooly), HARRINGTON (Rathnadarrahy), DILLON - Castletownroche, Co. Cork
Note: My Irish ancestors ended up in Boston, Massachusetts area of U.S. between 1880 & 1905.

Amy,

Thanks for your reply. It is definitely spelled with an 'm' but I suppose even a clergyman can make a mistake!

But I'll explore Kilnahulla and see where it leads me...

Thanks again,
