Immigration - Donegal - Scotland
« on: Tuesday 07 September 04 13:01 BST (UK) »
Trying to locate info on my Grandparents who came form Donegal to Coatbride between 1896-1901.Their name was Gilmartin.
Grandfather was an Engine Keeper in a glassmaking industry.
Does anyone have access to the 1901 Census for Coatbridge?
Any help is appreciated.

Hi,

Were your grandparents born after 1864? Then their births and marriage (if they were married there) will have been registered in Donegal in Ireland.

The 1901 census for the UK is available online

Hi..

Yes my Grandparents were married in Donegal (1896)and came to Coatbridge shortly after.  I am trying to find out when & how they arrived and also how many of their siblings came along with them....I am making some progress albeit very slow....

You will get a better response if you were to put this querie up on the Census lookup area of this forum.
