Liverpool Worhouse 1891 census
« on: Tuesday 06 December 05 20:13 GMT (UK) »
Hello all -

I recently discovered an ancestor in the 1891 census.

WILLIAM BUCHANAN was an inmate in the 1891 census - he was born in Kerry, Ireland c1828.

Can anyone advise how I can obtain information on his stay at the workhouse (I have already spoken to Central Library Record Office and they suggest a researcher).

Many thanks,
Paula

A great site regarding the poor law and also states that Liverpool records office holds the records of the liverpool select vestry (ref: 353 sel) these include the records of Liverpool workhouse Brownlow hill 1841 to 1928 (ref 353 sel/18-25)
