Hi Tazzie

I couldn't see James in Woburn in 1841. However found the following:
HO107/005-39-2 Folio 14A
Bedford St, Woburn
William Coleman 35 ag lab
Mary Coleman 35
Jane 15; Elizabeth 10; Eliza 5; John 4; George 1

Folio 16b
Bedford St, Woburn
Fanny Coleman 75

All born in county

HO107/005-39-3 folio 11B
Thomas Favell 15 born in county
one of a number of males aged 15-9 living in the schoolmasters house. He may be a complete red herring, but was the only Favell in town.

In 1861 James gave his birthplace as Biggleswade Beds. Don't go away, I'll have a look there in 1841, but it's a bit bigger so may take a while.

Regards

David

Hi Tazzie

Double failure!

Couldn't find James and while I was at it I looked for one of my missing Medlocks who was buried in Biggleswade in 1848. Couldn't find him either!

The only Favells that I saw in Biggleswade:
HO107/002-04 folio 18A
Sandpits, Biggleswade
Will Favell 65 no occupation quoted
Mary Favell 65
Both born in county

Sorry!

Regards

David

David.

Thank you for checking the possibles for me . Hadn't thought as far as Biggleswade . I think William Coleman's father was James Coleman as the family appear in Woburn rates book at 4 Bedford St from 1806-1809 (years so far transcribed).
James gives his age as 20 on marriage in 1846 so may have to search the records held in the library in Leighton Buzzard as soon as I get chance.

                Thanks again

Hi Tracy

Do you have the 1851 and 1861 census details? If not I'll pull them off for you.

It might be useful to find the 1846 marriage entry to get James' father's name.

I can't trace any Favell baptisms in Biggleswade after 1807, although the parish registers have been extracted onto the IGI. The William and Mary who were there in 1841 had two early children, in 1799 and 1807, so seem to be a tad on the old side to be James' parents.

David

Good morning David.

Please the census details would be great. Do you think fathers details would be shown this early as I have some in Bucks 1840 that just say "with parents consent"? I agree it seems that the Biggleswade couple would be too old -he could just have been a very late baby!

           Thanks again

Great David .

Thats them. So Elizabeth was living near her husband to be David Underwood in Lamsey. There was a few cottages here and various memebers of my family now seem to live in all of them. Must have got on well with the neighbours.
I see on 1851 it says NK for where born -so I will have to chase those PR's.
 Was there 2 Mary Ann's age 6 months  (1851 & 1861)?

                   Thank you

Sorry, the original message got sent somehow before I'd finished it - I was having an instant message conversation with my daughter in Derby at the time. I've completed it now - I'd done a copy and paste to save typing and hadn't amended Mary when it got sent!
