Ware High Street
« on: Thursday 08 December 05 16:43 GMT (UK) »
Hi

Can anyone with local knowledge please help with info on a newly found ancester. In the 1891 census the family headed by Frederick Cooper a master baker had a "bakers shop and pub namely the Bell" in middle row High Street, by 1901 it was being run by the son Frederick Cooper jun. and his wife my ancestor Constance Cooper.

Can anyone tell me if this premises still exists, and what happened to the Cooper family. Also looking for photos please if anyone can help.

regards

peterbennett

Hi Peter,

You could always try this very good website  ;D ;D

http://batemans-history.rootschat.net/ware.htm

Will have a look through my others to see if I can see one of the Bell - if you look at Hertfordshire book review you will see which book I took some of them from!

Again as a Cheshire lad - only know the area through family history!

Cheers
