Help Locating G Grandad
« on: Tuesday 13 December 05 14:28 GMT (UK) »
Hi Everyone,

Hoping someone can help with a family mystery, trying to find out what happened to my G Grandfather William James Fairbanks born 12 July 1895 in Roma, Qld. William was last seen around the 1950's after walking out on the family, unsure when he died or even where, another family member did some research through the regular records but found nothing, not sure where else to go from here, any idea's, would love to finally know what happend to him.

Hi Nari

Do you have his WW2 army records?  If may have later correspondence after he left the Army.

You can request a copy from the Archives.  www.naa.gov.au

Cheers

Genni :)

Hi Genni,

Did send away for his army records with the same thought in mind but no luck unfortunatley, they only told me what I already knew, thanks for the help though. I know he's out there somewhere so will keep looking.

Cheers
