Hello Matty,

I've linked the thread for Andrew McNutt~Publican 1861 http://tinyurl.com/5ce8kq

The article in this link mentions the marriage of Elizabeth, the daughter of Henry and Margaret Ferguson, to Alexander McNutt in Dunfanaghy. www.thistleandbee.com/contri-index/queries/ferg-neil2007.html

Regarding the McNutts - I think I could be of some help

My granny was born a McNutt (Deborah) of Belthorn - 4 miles away from Darwen. Where they farmed. She was one of 13, I believe. She died age 97, 2 years ago. I think she was the last of that generation - but there had been family upheavels at the graveside when my great granda died and lots of not speaking - it took 33 years to sort out his will!!!!!- so there may be more still alive.
Will contact my mum shortly and find out a lot more.
There are many cousins, half cousins and quarter cousins
I mean a huge amount.

I was actually looking for my dad's side of the family when I fell on your e-mail.
I do have a photo of great gran on washing day and granny as a girl
Are you on the Irish side - what's your link??

I am the Daughter-in-Law of William McNutt (Bill) Deborah's brother.. I know all about the "will" and the Farm!also I have certificates including Deborah's birth cert.

Keep in touch as I have info on the family from Ireland and also traced the family from Belthorn and Longhey Lane/and Darwen and the Ward side of the family etc.  I will share my information with you.

floo,

I have asked a mod why you can't access my PM's and this is her reply ....

At the moment newbies can't reply to PMs until they have posted several times - you can post on the thread to tell them to do this though & we allow them to post qualifying posts (with very little in them!) just to get up to the two or three needed for PMs.
