Bensons in old monkland
« on: Friday 16 December 05 11:15 GMT (UK) »
Please help  I am trying to gather information on Peter benson b.1809 Unsure where, his wife margaret 1809 (nee carson) she was born gatehouse, their children were James 1829 in girthon, john 1832 in girthon, sarah 1834 in girthon, thomas 1836 in girthon, william 1840 in erskine, ann 1844 and margaret 1852 these last 2 were probably born in old monkland.

Peter and margaret were living in old monkland during the1850s but I would like to know if someone could look them up for me in the 1851 census as I am desparate to know where Peter was born.  I have been unable to find any entry for his birth on scots people.  I do know his parents were james benson and sarah irving but thats about it as I got that from his death record.

Peter and margaret were married in girthon in 1828  and he was an iron miner at the rosehall colliery, any help would be greatly appreciated ???
