Looking for a Walter Neilson Steel or
« on: Monday 19 December 05 09:38 GMT (UK) »
a John Neilson Steel, emigrated from Scotland to Canada abt 1890-1910 ?

Walter was still alive in the 1950s.

Any info on these people or on folks with similar sounding names would be great.

                                      Cheers

Have you looked for them in the transcriptions of the 1901, 1906 and 1911 census records:

Once you know where they ended up, you'll know what city and province to search in.

Josephine

Found your Walter on the I.G.I. so I know that he was born in 1865...
When was John born?  Might save some wild goose chasing to give
some more info. Hopefully they immigrated at the earlier date and
something more can be found

Wanted to see the age of your John, as I found in Manitoba  1875 birth in 1911...
More  IGI  searching under parents names & realized middle name  is listed as
JOHN NELSON STEEL  -Feb.10 - 1863 Govan, Lanark, Sct
I know that you probably don't need this information...but it can help us...
