1861 Yorkshire Census Name Index
« on: Friday 10 September 04 14:05 BST (UK) »
During October,  the first part of our indexing project for Yorkshire will be complete, with the 114,000 people of Halifax indexed. This will be available to search online.

To enable us to get more records for more towns and cities online, I need more people to help with the indexing. Please see the covering page on my homepage for more info. The more people who help, the quicker we can get the index online. The site is: http://www.1861census.co.uk/

I'm doing this because I'm too impatient to wait for someone else to make 1861 available. If you think you can help, please get in touch.

Thanks,
Adam

Hi Joe,

The Kershaws in my family moved from Manchester in the 1850's and lived in the Halifax/Bradford areas.

Adam what a wonderfull thing you are doing. If it wasnt for people like yourself. we would not be doing our family tree's or would have given up. Because the information we need would not be available.  Keep up the good work and i hope you get some helpers soon.
