As you quite rightly say there is not enough to go on here.
You're not sure if he is Collins/Hurley.
What surname were his siblings known as?
Did they ever live in England?
Did they get married?
Who was their father on certificates?
The list of questions could be endless.
Happy New Year  :-[

Hi Heywood - I will certainly go along to the LDS centre and see if I can find him on the Irish BMDs.

Thanks again

Heres some Seaman's medals - could these be a possibility?

Medal listing of    Collins, William G
Discharge number:   313600
Date   14 June 1926

Medal listing of    Collins, Michael
Discharge number:   R08066
Date   29 June 1913

I'm trying to remember the date of the Titanic - was it 1912 ? and this Michael received a medal in 1913!!    :-\

but theres a John Collins who survived!

Just a thought!

Hi Annie - I know for sure that my grandfather was not in the navy he was in the Rifle Brigade.  His brother John could have been in the navy - I know he got married so he survived the war but as for Michael - its very possible he could have joined the navy but he seems to have disappeared about 1912 hence this family legend about the Titanic.

Thanks for supplying this info about the medals.

Regards
Pauline
