There seems to be a link with hannah and the Browns - 1851 has Eliza, daughter Fanny and son George in the workhouse in Yate.

http://images.freebmd.org.uk/cgi/choose.pl

I've checked it so it should work

Otherwise find the main page of FreeBMD and scroll down until you see in red view images.

On the 1891 census Charles gives his birthplace as Locking.

Even with a marriage I suspect it could still be tricky as the 1851 census shows two Cavel (spelt this way be the enumerator) families within pages of each other in Locking. Both heads of household are called John, one born circa 1807, the other circa 1811, both labourers (but luckily with different named wives). Locking doesn't appear to be on the IGI.
Heywood's 1851 census find for Charles  and his birthplace on the 1891 census seems to indicate strongly that he was born Locking and not close by Banwell.

You could request an 1841 census lookup for a Charles Cavill (plus spelling variations) to see if he is with his family in Locking.

Valda

It does seem to be tricky with the diffrent spelt names. i asked for a lookup for the 1841 and Charles is living with his parents William and Mary in Nightcott, Banwell

I can't find a William or Mary on the 1851 census in Banwell or Locking. From the NBI which has coverage of Locking and Banwell this burial could be a possibility for William. Bearing in mind ages on the 1841 census are rounded to the nearest 5 (or certainly rounded) does this William's age look a possibility for the 1841 census? Besides William, Mary and Charles was there anyone else in the household?

30th November 1844 William CAVIL 48 Somerset Locking, St Augustine

Hi Valda

on the 1841 Census it gives birth as 1795 for william and 1796 for Mary so the death does fit and that would be why he is not in the 1851 ?

others is the household in 1841 are Charlotte b 1823 and Mary 1825

were did you find the burial
