My great grandmother Maud Mary Maliphant was born 22/10/1873 according to the family bible, the daughter of Henry Maliphant.
She married in Pontypridd in 1894 and I have the Marriage Cert. but I cannot find her birth anywhere. Can anyone help please?

Hi Terrey,

The earliest birth record that I can find is 1874 ???

Here's the details anyway :)

Maliphant Sarah Maud-March 1874-Pontypridd- Vol 11a Page 392

Could this be her?

Hi Mick,
Thanks for the quick response but I don't think this is the one.

Terrey,

Welcome to RootsChat.  ;D

As she was born in October 1873 the record Mick found could well be her.
March 1874 refers to the quarter in which her birth was registered,  not her birth date.  That just means the first quarter of 1874,  it is entirely possible her birth was not registered for several months.  You need to check out this certificate to be able to rule it out conclusively.
